A Dhillon
Utilised the services of Frankie and his team from 2nd City Spray Solutions to apply Corksol on interior garage wall. So glad I went for this option. It looks great I went for the Sky colour option. Frankie and his team worked all day to apply the 3 coats it needed. Frankie has been great throughout from original visit, to dealing with a little delay on my part with timing. He graciously fitted me in between his other work. Garage isn’t fully finished but it already looks 1000% better. Hoping to reap the benefits of the Corksol and all it offers.

Interior Insulation FAQs, Guides & Expert Advice
FAQs: Interior Insulation
What is interior insulation?
Interior insulation involves insulating the inside walls of your property - usually with rigid insulation boards, stud wall systems or spray-based products - to help retain heat and reduce energy bills. It's a great solution when external insulation isn't possible.
When should I consider interior wall insulation?
- If your home has solid walls with no cavity
- When you want to keep the external appearance of your property
- During a renovation or before plastering/decorating
- To reduce draughts and improve thermal comfort
Is internal insulation disruptive?
It's far less disruptive than people expect. We work efficiently to minimise mess and can complete most rooms in just a few days. We also offer spray plastering afterwards to give your room a smooth, paint-ready finish.
Will I lose space in the room?
Some thickness is added (typically 50-100mm), but we work with slim-profile insulation boards and clever detailing to keep space loss to a minimum. The improved warmth is usually well worth the trade-off.
Can I combine insulation with plastering or decorating?
Yes. Many of our clients combine interior insulation with our plastering and painting and decorating services for a complete refresh.
Is it suitable for period properties?
Yes. Internal wall insulation is often the preferred solution for heritage homes, especially those in conservation areas where exterior changes are restricted.
Guide: The Benefits of Interior Wall Insulation
- Save energy - Reduce heat loss and lower heating bills
- Improve comfort - Warmer rooms and fewer draughts
- Acoustic performance - Helps reduce noise transfer between rooms
- Adds property value - Energy-efficient homes are more desirable
- Non-invasive to exteriors - Keeps the character of your home intact
Interior insulation is ideal for homes in Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and other West Midlands areas, especially older terraced or semi-detached properties.
Advice: What Type of Insulation Is Best for Inside Walls?
We tailor each installation based on the property. Common options include:
- Rigid foam boards (PIR or phenolic) - Slimline and effective
- Mineral wool or natural fibre - Breathable and sustainable
- Insulated plasterboard - Quick to install and good for straight walls
- Thermal stud systems - Ideal for uneven surfaces or complex layouts
Not sure what's right for your property? We'll assess your walls, lifestyle, and goals before recommending the best approach.
Advice: When to Install Interior Insulation
The best time to add insulation is:
- During renovation or refurb work
- When re-plastering or redecorating
- Before winter or a tenancy change
- If you're struggling with high energy bills or condensation
We can coordinate insulation with our other services, such as Venetian plastering or kitchen spraying, to minimise disruption and cost.
